We are seeking a person to serve as Assistant to the President - Director of Strategic Initiatives. The primary objective of this position is to help form and manage conference strategic mission-driven initiatives, and cultivate relationships with people and organizations for the purpose of raising financial and other support for accomplishing those initiatives.

This role reports directly to the president's office. Salary ranges from $4,577 to $5,366 per month. Position is full-time exempt and eligible for all full-time benefits, including medical insurance, retirement basic and matching contributions, tuition subsidy for qualifying dependents, and more. 

Qualifications are as follows:

  • Must have an expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, a Seventh-day Adventist church member in regular standing, and a desire to serve in a cooperative, spiritually redemptive, and soul-winning atmosphere.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Master’s degree preferred. In lieu of bachelor’s degree in related field, proven track record of successful fund raising, project management and major gifts donor solicitation.
  • Prefer 3-5 years of directly applicable experience.
  • Must have the ability to effectively interact with potential major donors in clearly casting a vision and making direct asks for funding.
  • Must possess or be willing to gain North American Division Gift Planning & Trust Services Certification within one year of hire.
  • Must have above-average people skills and be able to relate positively and effectively with the public.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate complex ideas in both public and private settings.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to work cooperatively with Conference administration and personnel.
  • Must be able to write and speak English fluently; bilingual is a bonus, but not required.
