Minnesota Conference Response to the Recent Government enactment of Economic Relief to Americans Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic

Considering counsel from the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy, the Minnesota Conference of Seventh-day Adventists will not participate in the recently enacted government economic relief acts, known as the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) and the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA).

The Minnesota Conference administration wants to acknowledge that while the issue of government aid to the church is of concern in a variety of contexts, the Conference position is limited to the federal financial assistance contained in CARES Act and FFCRA as they relate to the organization. The Conference’s position should not discourage individual members from receiving government assistance in their personal or professional lives.
