The Minnesota Conference is pleased to announce that Gayln L. Bowers, a graduate of Union College, has accepted the position of Vice President for Finance. He will officially be joining our team on February 1, 2021.

Bowers comes to us with a vast experience and knowledge in the accounting world, most recently serving as the Executive Director for Cohutta Springs Conference Center in Crandall, Ga., where he was responsible for all aspects of the business, including the finance department. He has almost forty years of work experience with increasing responsibility in administrative, financial, and human resources management responsibilities in North America and overseas, which we believe will serve the Conference well.

“Mr. Bowers has an extensive background in finance and accounting. His experience in the mission field will undoubtedly serve us well as he interacts with the diversity of our Conference. I am confident in Gayln’s ability to build positive relationships across communities. He will be a welcome addition to this Conference’s ministry vision,” commented Pastor Eric Mokua, a member of the Conference Personnel Committee and Board of Trustees.

Prior to working for Cohutta Springs, Bowers worked as  Human Resources Director for Pacific Union College, where he provided leadership, planning and counsel to administration regarding human resource operations while managing a $10 million dollar budget, and Vice President for Finance for Bangkok Adventist Hospital in Thailand, where he was responsible for all budgeting and financial issues, including reporting to the executive committee and board of directors.

Gayln is married to Lorena (Young), who serves as a hospital chaplain. Join with us as we welcome the Bowers family to Minnesota.
