Job Summary

To provide assistance and support to the vice presidents for administration while focusing on the mission of the conference and emphasizing teamwork.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

President

  • Prepare and mail correspondence, including regular monthly birthday cards
  • Prepare, manage and maintain all filing in president’s office
  • Organize and maintain president’s office at the direction of the president
  • Assist with event planning as directed
  • Schedule and manage president’s calendar as directed
  • Screen phone calls, visits and appointments to ensure the president’s effectiveness
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Conference Clerk

  • Prepare and mail correspondence
  • Maintain eAdventist database
  • Prepare data for the Adventist Yearbook as needed
  • Prepare agendas & minutes for various committees as assigned
  • Manage and maintain all files on a regular basis
  • Prepare and present training for local clerks as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Secretariat

  • Prepare, manage and maintain all Conference board of trustees’ records
  • Prepare and mail correspondence
  • Assist with various reports and reviews as assigned
  • Maintain the Conference calendar
  • Develop and maintain various forms as directed
  • Create and maintain credential cards as directed
  • Screen phone calls, visits and appointments to ensure effectiveness of the department
  • Assist with event planning as directed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

  • Must have an expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, a Seventh-day Adventist church member in regular standing, and a desire to serve in a cooperative, spiritually redemptive, and soul-winning atmosphere
  • Must be familiar with or be willing to learn various software applications, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Must have above-average people skills
  • Must have ability to relate positively and effectively with the public in various church entities
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to work cooperatively with Conference administration and personnel
  • Must be able to write and speak English fluently

 

Typical Physical Demands

 

  • Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching.
  • May require lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephone and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to operate an automobile without assistance.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.

 

Working Conditions

 

  • Essential office tasks are performed from the Conference office under normal office conditions with little to no noticeable discomfort. Work area is well-lighted and ventilated.
